Perhaps it’s fitting that a new multi-million dollar program designed to help people rebuild their lives after prison hired an ex-con to be one of its executives. The Concordance Academy of Leadership, which vows to revolutionized the re-entry field in Missouri and beyond with evidence-based practices, said Wednesday that it had hired former Missouri state senator Jeff Smith, a Democrat, to be vice president in charge of community engagement and policy.
